OK, so I want to get fit, somewhere deep down inside I really want to, honest!
So now I just need to convert that from the mind and into action. This my friend is the difficult bit. I've decided the only way to do this is to just sign up for a fun run. I mean I've tried exercising and I drop off pretty quickly, so I figured if I had something to work toward this would keep me motivated.
So I've done it, I've signed up for the Citylink Run for the Kids. They have two different runs, a 5km run and a 14.3km run. You'd think given I'm unfit that I'd do the smaller of the two, but when my 'fit and enthusiastic' friend joined me and encouraged me to do the big one I jumped right in.
Trust me when I say I have a little bit of 'buyers remorse' kicking in right now. But never the less it's done, this is what I'm doing, I've purchased my spot, there's no turning back.
So now I have basically a month to get my act together, build my fitness, prepare my legs for running. I've been out for a quality walk a few times so far, (it's been almost a week). When I drop one of the kids at kinder, I pile the other 27kg's worth of kids in the pram and push my way around town.
When hubby is home I plan on going for a run, let's face it it won't be 14kms but even a couple would be a good start. My 'fit and enthusiastic' friend has suggested we go for a couple of big runs leading up to the event, that will be good, I'm grateful for this too. I do rely alittle on others motivation.
