Chocolate Balls

We’ve all had a big weekend, for one reason or another.  It’s also still winter and that means that we’re feeling a little cold and run down.
Lulu stayed home from kinder today, with a bit of a head cold we decided a day of rest would be beneficial.
Ensuring she has a day of rest is another challenge within itself.
I had the kids bathed by early afternoon, and they were super keen to make ‘Chocolate Balls’
“You know mum the ones with all the sprinkles on the outside”  - Lulu
So chocolate balls it is.  It’s another one of those great recipes to get the kids involved in.  With no baking involved, you have no real worries of any danger.

Chocolate Balls
1 Cup Marie Biscuits (crumbs)
1 400g tin of Condensed Milk
2 tbsp Coco
1 Cup of Shredded Coconut

Now I use my blender to break up the biscuits, but the old fashioned way is to put the biscuits in a clip lock bag and beat them with a rolling pin.  This process might be super appealing to the kids, you decide.
Then we add all the ingredients and mix.
Finally once all the ingredients are mixed well, break and roll into small balls and cover with extra shredded coconut.
Given Lulu was feeling a little under the weather, I didn’t really want anyone to be eating the chocolate balls she’d made.
So I separated the mixture into three lots, one for Lulu, one for Tommy and one for me.  This was also perfect, because, to be honest, my kids can get cranky in the kitchen when it comes to sharing!
So we each rolled and coated our own Chocolate Balls.  We placed them in their own containers, labelled with the kid’s names, thus ensuring they only eat their own, and dad can eat some germ free ones that I’ve whipped up...... Everyone is happy.

Don’t they look delish!

Cheers
