Today was teamwork
The dad and daughter kinda team work..............
My baby girl, well she is 5, but she learnt to ride a bike today.
She's asked a few times to have the training wheels removed, but as parents I don't think we were ready. But today we knew it's not up to us.
Rod removed the wheels.
Anxious
Definitely a word I'd use to describe how she was feeling at this point.
But like the Lion in The Wizard of Oz, she knew all she needed was Courage!
So she focused, and she tried, and perhaps she freaked out a few times.
But she got there...
She did it...
She rode her push bike with two wheels!
No more training wheels for this big girl.
She's well aware that she still needs to practise before she has this bike riding bizo mastered.
But she is well and truly OK with this.
Why?
Because today, she did something that she's dreamt of for some time, and she's so proud of herself.
See for yourself
Cheers

Wow! It's always exciting when a little one starts riding independently. Unfortunately it also means that they are no longer really a "little one".
ReplyDeleteAwww.

Sorry - I mean, what a big girl.
Biiig milestone.
