I've seen so many beautiful decorations in peoples homes via blogs and pinterest, and started to give some thought into what we wanted to do.
I had some white lantens left over from Zander's 1st birthday and thought they can definitely be recycled. I've seen a few homes use them as 'full moons'.
I searched for a good bat template and found one here.
I then printed it out, and cut out the bats to use as my template. Following this I traced both the big bat and the small bat onto black paper and cut out. It's up to you how many you'd like to cut out depending on how many bats you want on your moon. I think I cut 5 big bats and 5 small bats.
Once I cut them out I put a small bend on the wings just to give them a 3D look.
Then I glued them onto my lanten, randomly.
I've hung it from the roof now, leading up to Halloween. Lulu is quite excited by the look of it and has pointed out it will look awesome in the dark with a torch shining up through the middle.
And no good craft would be complete without a bit of excess glue as my little girl Lulu busily makes her own for the bedroom.
