I'm sure I've probably been grateful for this before. Maybe just in different words.
You know, like, grateful for sunshine, or grateful for a day in the sun, blah blah.
But there is no hiding it, I love the sunshine.
I wouldn't even say the sun was shining today, it was overcast but the weather was balmy and I was happy.
I have cold bloody, I need the sunshine, I don't like to go in the water for a dip unless it's 30 degrees. But my Lulu she does not take after me. When it hits 25 degrees she wants to get around in her undies because she's 'boiling'.
So on request today we officially celebrated the warm weather by pulling out the pool. Yeap our trusty pool cost $12 down at the discount store, but it's a ripper.
So we put a little water in it, (which no shit would have been freezing) and off they went.
Don't you just love the leadership of 'big brother', looks like he is choking the poor kid to death, but seriously they were both really happy! (do you believe me?)
Honestly, with smiles like this, how can one not be happy, be grateful, for my life that I have been given. Thank you very much.
Some days are tough, motherhood is hard, entertaining the kids is not always easy. But when I have days where it is warm, and a simple bit of water in the back yard can put smiles on their faces, it makes it all worth it.
Bring on summer I say.
So on this day, I am grateful for warm weather, and the simplicity that is entertainment in your own back yard.
I'm linking up with Maxabella loves grateful link up. What are you grateful for today?
Cheers
PS. As I attempt to use Manual over Auto on my camera I need to remember the following,
Photos taken: 1/640 F5 ISO 400

The photos are great, Mandy (and seemingly complicated to produce!!) you can't beat a sunny day, water and kids. It's a magical recipe for utter delight. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a lizard too - I crave the sunshine and need the water to be just right (like, actually warm!).
Kids - they don't care.
Magoo's blue lips aren't enough to pry him away from the pool.
:-)
Aaaah summer, the word itself brings a smile and your photos are evocative of the very best that this season has to offer.
ReplyDeleteI bought a stack of pool noodles yesterday in preparation for some fun in our pool this weekend - methinks some groovy goggles might be in order too after seeing your cuties modeling theirs.
Happy weekend,
Felicity x

ReplyDeleteKids and water! Just give them a pool and you can relax for the rest of the day. Our big swimming pool is still too cold, but that's where we spend our summer, too. Your kids are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletelooks like lots of fun! i was enjoying the warm weather too.. what happened to it??
ReplyDeletehave a good weekend. x
Oh I love these pics, especially of the water splashing! My kids keep begging me to crack out the sprinkler but I keep resisting. Looks like big fun!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that entertaining kids is much easier when the weather is hot! I don't know how families survive when it is cold half the year - where we live now we don't have winter! Great pictures, you can see they are enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your photos! They are all brilliant! Your kids are gorgeous and you captured the magic of a blow-up pool perfectly :) Great post.
