I had a great time at the Bloggers Brunch.
It's official, I learnt a lot about fashion. Thanks Target!
I mean I know I'm no fashionista. I'm a bit of a Plain Jane to be honest.
My 'uniform' is Jeans, Singlet / Long Sleeve Top and Cardigan.
Yeap, I have an array of Cardigans, all the colours of the rainbow and then some.
I tried to snaz it up a bit this last year and embraced the maxi dress.
That was a massive development for me.
Does this sound familiar? Or am I on my own?
Anyway, I'm really motivated to shake my wardrobe up. I've just got to find a budget.
Targets Golden Rules when Shopping:
I learnt loads about my body shape and what suits.
I'd love to:
Purchase a good quality pair of black pants
Invest in some print tops
Find a good pair of wedges
-x-
Not too unreasonable?
I learnt that I need to be more adventurous and take the time to really look. I found some great tops that I would not have given a second look if I was wandering through the store myself.
Why is that?
Maybe because I'm never alone, maybe because I can't concentrate.
Either way I know I need to do something.
I just have to be a little savvy with my finances first so I can justify it.
Watch this space.
Do you have a top fashion tip to share with me? I'm all ears!
Cheers

It was really interesting wasn't it. I'm no fashion person myself. I just like what I like and wear it. My girls will have to educate me when they reach the fashion age :)
ReplyDeleteIn the last year, I've been trying to lean just a little out of comfort zone with each purchase. And I've found following some 'real people' fashion blogs (like Fox in Flats and Styling You) has been really helpful.
ReplyDeleteAND accessories! Add a gorgeous scarf to your jeans/t/cardi combo and it would change your whole look :)
Good luck with your wardrobe overhaul - have fun!
At the moment I'm all about comfort pretty much. I rarely get dressed up, but then I rarely have anywhere to go to get dressed up for. In Darwin you just don't bother that much.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, Everynow and then I just wear something pretty cause I can, and I love reading blogs for inspiration with clothes, and learning that other people have no issues shopping at big w or Target. That's very liberating for me.
I'm loving Big W right now. I love the affordability. But I know what you mean, people used to pretend they didn't shop in the large stores like this, now the embrace it and make the most of it.
DeleteI'm a jeans, ballet flats and cardi (a nice one!) girl in winter. I like to dress things up with scarves or bangles. It's comfortable but really probably quite boring and definitely not high in the fashion stakes!!
ReplyDeleteOh you do sound like me, only I don't really do bangles. They always look so lovely on others but I just find them really annoying if nothing else.
DeleteGreat post! I loved that target session. I went out and bought about 4 pieces and I really thought about them. I have ad so many compliments when I wear them. Makes you feel good! Love to see a pic of you in that gorgeous new shirt!
