What! You don't know!
I feel in love with Abigail when I attended the Digital Parents Conference last month. Abigail is a beautiful creation courtesy of Hallmark.
She is a soft, lush bunny that can talk. Better known as an Interactive Story Buddy, she is designed to encourage the love of books in children.
Simply read the book that comes with her and as you read particular sentences in the book, through voice activation Abigail will join in the story.
Her voice is delightful and her words, kind and thoughtful.
We were fortunate enough to be given an Abigail to review. That said we already knew that we loved her as we'd purchased her as a gift for a special friend. But sure enough that special friend had already received her from another loved one.
Upon the news that we were going to be sent Abigail to review, I exchanged the gifted one for Cooper, who is another Interactive Story Buddy, more suitable for little boys.
Queue two extremely happy children
I'm a bit of a sucker for anything story book. Anything that will encourage my children to want to read. Thankfully they are keen as mustard and as a result love their new buddies very very much.
What really caught my eye was how affordable they are. The initial bunny comes with a story book and extra books are on par with regular books, if not cheaper. Win!
But here is the best bit. Not only did we get to review Abigail, the lovely folk at Hallmark have kindly given us a second Abigail to giveaway.

Abigail reminds me of a toy I had when I was a little one. Mine was a Teddy Ruxpin and I loved it sooo much. I would sooo love to have a similar toy for my children to grow up with and spend each night reading with just like Teddy Ruxpin did for me.

I have tried and tride to read books to my daughter who is almost 3, but she won't have a bar of it. She is not interested in sitting still and listening, which is why I can't take her to storytime at the library. This interactive bunny would be perfect for my daughter who loves toys that talk! Especially if she has to say specific words in a book I am sure it will hook her into reading!

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Abigail before this post, so thankyou for bringing her to my attention! She's beautiful. The reason I would like to win this Abigail is so I could use this at bedtime for my three young daughters. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't read every night to my daughters (as I'm usually so tired and run out of time), or when I do, I 'skip' a couple of pages to quicken up the story as we have read them all before and it gets a bit monotonous. Hope I'm not sounding too much of a horrible mother, but I'm just being honest! :) I'd love this, Abigail would be a real breath of fresh air and a welcome change to our bedtime routine!

We are a sucker for stories in our house too and my 5 year old son has just started reading and is really enjoying it! This of course causes some concern for my 3 year old daughter - who can't yet read. I would love Abigail for her so she can feel special when reading too.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a FB liker!
I've shared on FB (Bec Sherman)
ReplyDeleteI am sure a bunny called Abigail,
ReplyDeleteWould be perfect to tell a tale,
To Charlie my son,
Who has just turned one.
Soft and cuddly for the night time read,
Sending him off to bed happy- yes indeed!
He loves reading stories-that's for sure,
3 books at least before bed- that's Charlie's law!
I think we would call her Abby for short,
A lovely new friend for our little Sport.

ReplyDeleteMy eldest is learning to read and my youngest is trying too. With so much seriousness between them it is hard to try and make it a fun experience for them both. This would be such a delight! Not to mention super cute :)

ReplyDeleteI'd love to win an Abigail, my girls would have so much fun with her!
ReplyDelete(And I'd steal her to cuddle sometimes too!)
Oh I'd love to win Abigail as she may help to calm down my little one before bedtime. She is so active and chucks a tanti every night when it's time to go to bed. This could be a good incentive to go there quietly and calmly!

ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, our story time DOES need one more person to interrupt and help make story time last longer...and so cute, she will fit right in!
ReplyDeleteI have a little girl,
ReplyDeleteHer name is Sierra Grace,
And when we read her books,
A big smile lights up her face.
I think that Abigail,
Would love to snuggle in,
And read about the girly things,
Written on the pages within.
She comes with a positive message,
Being you is the best way a girl can be,
And I think that Sierra could learn a lot,
From a gorgeous Abigail bunny!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to win so I can start to teach my little girl to read.

Since my little girl has started prep she often will sit her little brother on her bed and read him a story. It is the most adorable thing to watch , Im sure they would both adore Abigail to join in.
