A few years ago my girlfriend and I took Lulu to see Disney on Ice. I had no idea just how popular it was and on announcing the fact that we were going was amazed at how many people go, year in year out. Tradition.
This year Lulu and I are going back to Disney on Ice - Let's Celebrate, but we plan on taking Dad and Tom with us. (Sorry Zander, maybe next time).
It will be on here in Melbourne during the holidays, providing the perfect highlight for the winter school holiday break.
Yesterday however we were fortunate enough to be invited to The Icehouse at the Docklands to meet Mickey Mouse.
Serial!
Given Zander spent 6 hours travelling in the car over Easter watching Mickey Mouse Club House back to back it's fair to say, he is a fan.
If Zander had a bucket list, meeting Mickey Mouse would definitely be on it. One down! And a way cheaper option than going to Disneyland, boyeah!
As for Lulu, she's always wanted to go ice skating, like Charlie and Lola, it's definitely on her bucket list.
So when in Rome................
I was quite impressed with my efforts for my first time on the ice.
I was also quite impressed with Lulu's effort, seems her roller skating runners have given her some great balancing abilities.
As for Tom, he was excited, he had fun, but man was it hard work keeping him upright. We didn't let him bring us down though.
And Zander was more than happy on the side lines.
This was the perfect way to spend a Sunday together as a family. The kids are now super excited about the prospect of seeing Disney on Ice in the school holidays.
Ticked anything off your bucket list lately?
Cheers

What a fantastic day - for all of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great feeling when you can 'wow' the little people.
:-) xx
looks like a lot of fun! I didnt realise littlies could use those metal pushers.. I would love to take the kids but thought they were too little! awesome
ReplyDeletemy two that went skating were 4 and 6. My 6 yr old was able to do it without the frame in the end because she has roller skating runners so had more experience with the balance aspect.
DeleteOh it's a long way down off those skates when you fall!! How fabulous, my sister took my eldest to one of these years ago in Sydney, it was magic, she also bought her the flashing wand, programmes, it was the full spoilt niece experience for her birthday. We have been lucky enough to take our children to Disneyland, it's mind glowingly fun & staying at the Disneyland Hotel too, Mickey comes to have breakfast with you, pure magic. It took me back to being a child experiencing the same. Looks like a gorgeous day out, love Posie
ReplyDeleteWe're off to Disney on Ice too (Mr 3 is beside himself at the thought of seeing Buzz and Woody), don't know if we'll try ice skating for a couple more years though! But it looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteHooray for fun days on the ice. Now if only your guys were big enough to play ice hockey I would have someone to chat to as I sit by the rink in the cold watching the boy play.
ReplyDeleteHopefully next time you are in the area we will co-ordinate a little better and actually catch up :-)
I meant to say how great these pics are! Love the family one especially'!
