I don't like the cold.
But with the notion of glass half full what I do like is ~
The heat of a heater
Walking into a warm home after being out in the cold
A hot shower
Winter Boots
Long socks
Kids who bath early and don PJ's
Early nights coupled with darkness
Flannelette Sheets
Ugg Boots
Scarves
Whilst most people will tell you that being locked up inside can drive kids batty, when you've had a long day at kinder and school, snuggling up for some time out under the warmth of the heat is fantastic. No grubby children running in and out, wanting to stay out until the sun goes down.
It's calming.
I'm pretty grateful for that sense of calm this week that the cooler weather has bought.
What are you grateful for?
I'm linking up with Maxabella Loves over at Kidspot for 52 Weeks of Grateful.
Cheers
Mandy.

Well Mandy, you've sold me! I'm not a Winter person either, but seeing your list of positives to the colder seasons, I realised I actually like a few more things than I thought... and I really love that image, gorgeous socks, tights and long boots, doesn't get much better than that! xo
ReplyDeleteOh yes, in light of the heating bill, i bought everyone in the family some Peter Alexander ugg boots, she they had 15% off & bought the children sizes to suit them for another 5 years!! They are so toasty & gorgeous colours too. We bought a new woollen underlay for the bed last Winter, plus a new doona, it's glorious, totally suitable for Canberra & our very cold Winter. Best bonus of all is a husband coming home at the end of the month, he's like a giant hot water bottle. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteI have told my hubby I could not ever live in Canberra unless we had central heating, that place is freezing in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that your husband is coming home. Very happy, but no doubt not as happy as you. Enjoy your time together.
It's warmed up a bit here in the last few days and I'm grateful for that! we'll get to winter soon enough, but I'm not rushing!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with everything you have said. I'm not a winter person either but all those things make me smile x
ReplyDeleteLove your list, especially early nights coupled with darkness. Must say I like winter and summer - the extremes :)
ReplyDeleteI am the Queen of Winter :) I love, love, love it. Seriously! Anything over 27 degrees is too hot for me. I should move to Tassie.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about winter except the cold lol. I also love those boot socks - I ordered some just
ReplyDeleteLike them online :) xx
Agreed - on every count.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
:-) xx
Asolutely second all of those. Although my kids are still keen to run around outside until the sun is fully set.
ReplyDeleteWinter has well and truly started here, I'm in the Blue Moutains!! I do love winter...when I'm nice & warm....the best thing I love about winter though is my log fire, bed socks, flanelette sheets and being rugged up. :)
ReplyDeleteI like winter, for a while, just wish it wouldn't go for quite so long. If it just stuck to chilly for 3 months that would be totally fine, it's when it arrives early and leaves late that we get a bit over it.
ReplyDeleteYour list has me (almost) welcoming the cold days ahead. I don't mind poor old Winter. A log fire and a marshmallow solves all! x
