Something about boys!

I feel like this year is the year of the boy.

I've had a number of friends who have daughters, recently give birth to boys, and another one expecting.

I love when people don't pine for 'one of each'.

However sometimes when I hear people talk about only wanting daughters, it leaves me thinking 'what's wrong with boys'

The answer of course is 'absolutely nothing'.

I can't express in words how grateful I am for my boys.  They have so much to offer.

Sure they can be loud, but it's fine when they're yelling 'I love you mumma'.

Sure they can be active, but that's fine when they are bowling you over with a cuddle.

Sure they can be tough, but you'll find that they've got an emotional side that requires extra care and attention.

Sure they can be dirty, but you'll find they can define themselves and have a sense of style all of their own too.

I wish every mother could experience the joy that comes with a boy.

Cheers

Mandy

  2. Amen, Miss Mandy! I have three boys and nothing makes my blood boil more than when I get the pity look, or a comment about 'going back' to try for a girl. There will be no 'going back' for me - I adore my boys and wouldn't want it any other way!

  3. Oh what a beautiful post Mandy. And this resonates with me so well. I often get that sense of people feeling sorry for me not having a girl, but the truth is, I ADORE having boys. They're so full of energy and enthusiasm which I love. There is no mistaking they are very different to girls, but all of those things you describe and more make me feel very grateful for having them. Your boys are absolutely gorgeous xo

  4. I am the mama of one boy who is now almost 19. I craved more children but never a daughter specifically. 4 miscarriages put paid to that dream. Despite almost losing my son when I was just over 6 weeks pregnant he was born perfect, healthy and has been both a blessing and a joy.
