40 Shades of Grey and other Birthday Celebrations
What do you get someone who's turning 40?
I know, such a dilemma.
Especially when everyone is busting your chops for ideas.
When I had nothing left to offer it was up to the individual to come up with something.
BIG MISTAKE!
Because that one present turned out to be rather grey!
Rod was given a voucher to Sexyland. Yeap you read right. I won't dob the person in. But seriously, really?
Of course Rod thinks it's bloody awesome and is smiling from ear to ear.
So tell me, does that make the gift a win or a lose?
Taking it back a notch, Rod turned 40 last month, but we only celebrated his birthday last weekend.
When did we get so old?
Despite the fact that he'd been to Vegas he was pretty keen to have a party.
So we had a do, at home, that's our thing, open door policy kinda life.
We celebrated, all day and into the night........
It was hard in a crowded environment to get a good shot of my cake platters. But they looked fab and were a huge hit. Along with the cake pops. I made about 40, because I knew they would be snapped up.
I had too much to eat, too much to drink, too little sleep.
All that.
The hubster had a great time, which I guess is what it's all about.
So I wonder, have you ever received a gift that's left you thinking 'What the ...........'

Too funny! And yeah my hubby would have loved it :)
ReplyDeleteOne time I got handcream for a gift. And thought that was it. Yet I didnt see the gift card that was still in the wrapping paper and I threw it out :)
Not a good birthday that year!
Ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great celebration.
Poor Hubby once gifted me a session with a stylist.
They come to your home and go through your wardrobe with you and then take you shopping.
We were finincially strapped at the time and I was going through some 'stuff'.
His gift was not well received!!
I was insulted and also saw it as a waste of money.
Most people thought I was ungrateful - but it just felt wrong at the time.
Now, Sexyland...
